PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Ian Perkins' 1-yard touchdown run with 1:18 remaining gave Jefferson a 26-23 win against Sherwood in an OSAA Class 5A state semifinal Saturday at PGE Park.
Jefferson, of Portland, advances to play Hillsboro in the championship game Dec. 12 in Corvallis.
The Democrats (9-4) have won nine straight games since losing their first four to start the season.
The teams traded the lead four times before Jefferson took the lead for good on Perkins' touchdown.
Kolo Fukufuka led Jefferson in rushing with 39 yards on six carries. Jefferson quarterback Elisonoa Aluesi was 11 of 15 passing for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
Michael Balfour had 123 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries for Sherwood (11-2).
