The Portland-metro Gang Task Force arrested Eugene James Holbert II, 34, and his brother Jamar Schabass Holbert, 33, after a traffic stop and ended up charging both men with federal crimes of Distribution of Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The men were arrested at a traffic stop 2 pm Thursday, near Northeast 90th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard. Police say investigators then served two search warrants at the Cameo Motel, located at 4111 Northeast 82nd Avenue. Additional search warrants were then served at 315 North Alberta Street and a storage unit located in Northeast Portland.
The task force found and seized more than $211,000 cash, four handguns, more than 2.2 pounds of powder cocaine, and approximately six ounces of crack cocaine.
The Metro Gang Task Force (MGTF) is a multi-agency Safe Streets Task Force involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Portland Police Bureau, the Tigard Police Department, and the Beaverton Police Department, and the United States Attorney's Office.
MGTF investigators were assisted by the Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team (GET) and the Drugs and Vice Division (DVD).
