Día de Muertos at PAM

Friday, Nov. 2, Portland Art Museum (PAM) opens its doors to host an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity event, Día de Muertos.

Día de Muertos is a Mexican celebration to remember deceased loved ones. All are welcome to join the celebration, which takes place from 4 - 9 p.m. in the Fields Ballroom of PAM's Mark Building. Experience art from selected local Mexican artists, altares de muertos, food, Aztec dances, and more. 

Mexican gastronomy is among the best in the world and known for its distinct contribution to international cuisine. Bringing the best flavors to our Day of Dead celebration, some of the best Mexican restaurants and “tiendas Mexicanas” will sell moles, tamales, pan de muerto, atoles, aguas frescas and more.

All food and beverages will be for sale, a percentage of the sales will go to a local social justice organization, Don’t Shoot Portland.

Prizes to the best cultural outfit, (no Halloween), best Catrina makeup, best mole and pan de muerto!
