CNN) -- A Halloween party erupted in gunfire that left several people wounded at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, campus officials said.
Authorities put the campus on lockdown after the shooting, which occurred during an argument between two men Wednesday night, the officials said.
One of the men arguing was critically wounded and three others suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to Capt. David Carlisle of the university's department of public safety. The injured were taken to an area hospital.
At first, the campus said one suspect was arrested. But Carlisle later said two people were in custody.
Authorities say the shooting victims are not affiliated with the campus.
